Our Story

Two Kitchens, One Counter

There's a small bakery in Donegal Craft Village where you can order Tom's Brown Bread with your morning coffee and a proper chimichanga for lunch. It sounds unlikely. It is unlikely. And it's been pulling a full house for nearly twenty years.

Aroma started as a coffee shop with a difference. Everything is prepared and baked daily on premises, from vegetable soups and risottos to quesadillas, made-to-order salads, and a Gluten Free Belgian Chocolate & Hazelnut Cake that people talk about long after they've left Donegal. The kitchen doesn't cut corners. There's no microwave rescue. If it's on the menu, it was made that morning.

The Georgina Campbell Guide gave Aroma their 'Best of the Best' award. Google reviewers call it 'a gem.' But the real proof is simpler than that: people keep coming back. With 30 seats inside, 16 outside, and a car park at the door, the hardest part is getting a table at lunch.

We arrived around 1:30pm to a full house. All food is made fresh to order. My husband commented on how perfectly cooked the vegetables in his curry were.
